I am selling an old iMac that I had for quite some time. I got it from a friend who gave it to me with a bad GPU (artifacts). I managed to get the GPU to work again by baking it in the oven to "reflow" the graphic card and I haven't had any issues since. This was at least done some 8 years ago and still works.
Unit is in fair shape, expect over the years wear and tear. Some nicks/dings on the finish (pictured). Bottom RAM cover does sit fine, but the screw I believe has stripped threads so it doesn't flush with the housing. The Optical drive does NOT work. If you put a disk inside of it, you won't be able to eject it unless you do the force eject upon power cycling the unit and holding down the force eject key on the keyboard upon powering the unit on. Unit has an SATA SSD inside installed, I think it's a 250GB drive.
I was able to use OCLP (OpenCore Legacy Patcher) to bring the MacOS to something more modern, can't remember what MacOS I brought it up, but it wasn't super stable with weird issues with GUI when coming out of hibernation, but would allow Apple Music to work and iMessage, so good enough for that. As of now, the unit is just taking up room as I got too much stuff, so trying to downsize things I don't need.
I did image the unit to the latest official supported MacOS, 10.11.6 El Capitan. No password on the unit. Just hit "enter" at the password screen. no iCloud account signed into the unit.
You will be getting the iMac (as pictured) and the White power cable. NO OTHER ACCESSORIES INCLUDED!
For those interested and/or have questions, please use the craigslist built in email under the “Reply” and then select “Email”. I will check my emails daily depending on my work schedule and life. Final transactions of the sale will be at public locations such as a shopping center/bank/etc. I commute downtown for work, so I am somewhat flexible to meet up.
