Our health care organization needs an experienced Medical Assistant/Phlebotomist to join our
growing team Full Time. The successful candidate will also deliver excellent patient service,
answer patient questions, act as a resource for patient information and strengthen the
relationship between the patient and our entire medical office.

Maintain an orderly, efficient and timely flow of patients
Record patient medical history, vital statistics, and complete health assessment
Perform clinical procedures and diagnostic examinations to evaluate patient condition and medical needs
Keep an accurate charting of patient care given
Obtain laboratory specimen and update medical history accordingly
Maintain current knowledge to assure a safe working environment and demonstrate practical application
of all policies relative to safety and infection control
Maintain confidentiality of all patients and corresponding medical record
As a phlebotomist, you will be the one who draws blood from patients, collects a variety of other
specimen samples as well as label the blood vials that you have filled. Below is a quick list of
the job duties that you should expect when working as a phlebotomy technician and form the

collect blood samples from patients as outlined in each medical requisition
practice proper patient identification verification methods
practice infection control standards at all times when working with patients and equipment
Maintain an organized and clean work area based on state health laws and the guidelines of our medical
label vials with patient names and dates
decipher the best method for drawing blood depending on the specific patient
centrifuge blood samples
work with a large number of patients varying in age and health needs
be friendly, courteous and sympathetic when it comes to working with patients and coworkers
Maintain an organized and clean work area
Answer patient questions regarding collection techniques and offer additional resources on the collection
process if a patient request them
Legible handwriting is required
Excellent patient service and patient relationship skills
Strong attention to detail
Education, Experience & Competencies
Medical Assistant Certification (CMA) required and 1+ years of experience in a healthcare
setting, Must possess a valid state phlebotomy certification 2 years of experience preferred.
High school diploma/GED required (Associate degree preferred).
Knowledge of examination, diagnostic and treatment procedures
Certification in phlebotomy, CPR and injections
Demonstrate sound judgment and composure with the ability to take appropriate action in
questionable or emergency situations
Must have a high degree of professionalism, excellent analytical and organizational skills, and
possess strong written and verbal communication aptitudes
Integrity and reliability
Available immediately in Honolulu. Full time position for reliable, hard-working, mature-minded,
medical assistant/phlebotomist in an outpatient office. Must have positive attitude and ability to
multi-task very busy practice. Basic computer skills required and typing 45 wpm at minimal.
