This is a great opportunity for someone. This is a part time permanent position at a preschool in Kailua. Hours are 8am - 1pm, Monday thru Friday, $22 per hour.
You would work as a one-to-one aide for our 28 year old son who volunteers at a Kailua preschool each morning. He has worked there over two years and is very capable and knows his job, however, he must have an aide with him at work to assist if he needs redirection, or a break from his duties. You must keep him in view at all times and be able to contact him as needs arise. You have no duties in the preschool and are employed by our family. Its a great setting for anyone who loves small children. Its a very active setting with lots of energy and movement of children and staff around the facility.
Looking for someone, man or woman, on the windward side so the commute is not a challenge. Kailua would be perfect. You will be paid for all contact time so if you occasionally work additional hours you will be paid for that as well. There are no employee benefits other than workers compensation insurance. Pay period is twice a month and you will be paid by a company contracted by the State of Hawaii to pay staff for these kinds of positions. Employed by our family but paid by the State through his benefits as a disabled adult.
There are no requirements for the job but if you have experience working with special needs people or in a preschool or school setting that would be helpful. We are looking for a long term employee so please don’t call if you are just transitioning to full time work or some other temporary situation. Its a great job for someone who doesn’t need full time work and benefits because of other means of support in their life. Transporting him is not required. You will meet him at the worksite and at the end of the day you are done.
