Hours for this position are Monday-Thursday, 1:30p - 4:30p (Wednesdays begin at 12:00p)
The Operation Hero Facilitator is responsible for the implementation and facilitation of the Operation Hero program for 2 groups of eight elementary school age children.
Operation Hero is an after-school program designed for children ages six to twelve who may be experiencing difficulty in school, socially and/or academically. Often these difficulties are caused by frequent moves and family disruption due to parent deployments. This seminar-long (Early February - Mid May) program provides after-school homework help and mentoring in a small-group setting.
The facilitator will be responsible for preparing weekly detailed lesson plans from the Op Hero Facilitators Guide. They will prepare attendance charts, journals, folders and additional classroom tools prior to the start of the program. Maintain an organized, safe and clean program space.
Our ideal candidate will have proven experience and results working with elementary age children. A bachelor's degree in education or a related human services field is preferred.
