Aloha, I HAVE LOWERED THE PRICE BY 50%--PRICED TO SELL!!!!!------before World War 2, DROP CENTER RIMS were the "bee's knees", but after the war, these rims, as did the expression, fell out of style. Not sure about the expression, but always thought the rims looked cool. If you are looking for a set of wheels that are old school--this may be the set for you--been collecting vintage bike stuff for 45+ years--got these as a back up set 30 years ago, when the stuff was still available, guys would ship stuff to Hawaii, and the shipping was reasonable --the rims both front and back are DROP CENTER RIMS, I have a similar set are on my high end pre-war Schwinn--but they were used extensively on many high end pre-war bikes, not just Schwinn-- the back rim is stamped "M.O. MFG. CO. " (Murray& Ohio) Manufacturing Company, made in the USA--I believe the spokes are stainless steel--the guy who put the wheels together knew what he was doing--for years the U.S. had a monopoly on coaster brakes, didn't matter if they were Musselman, Morrow, Bendix, or New Departure--and then late 50's or early 60's (not exactly sure), Japan, while late to the dance, and Japan seems to make a habit of this, came out with a new coaster brake by Shimano, and it terms of quality and function, was light years ahead of any made by the USA--so much so, that in 1995 when Shwinn made their famous Black Phantom reproduction, EVERYTHING on the bike was made with USA parts, EXCEPT for 1 thing--the Shimano coaster break hub--Hey I like American as much as the next guy, but if I were heading down heartbreak hill--and I had to choose a coaster break--it would be a no-brainer---I have narrowed my collection of vintage cruisers down to my 5 favorites which I intend to be buried with--this is my LAST SET of wheels--when they are gone , good luck on finding another set anywhere, much less Hawaii--feel free to come look and inspect and ask away on any questions---these wheels would be great for any cruiser project--the chrome is original chrome and considering its age, in pretty good shape, but will let the photos speak for themselves--***please note, that on the rear wheel rim, there is what appears to be a white residue. This residue is from a rim type tire liner protector, which is not a bad idea to install on a vintage wheel if you plan on riding it. I have them installed on all the vintage bikes I ride****----finally, any questions call Bruce at show contact info
