ALOHA--- Thinking this item might begetter for eBay than Craigs list, but might as well give local a shot at them. This cool set of fenders came off a Schwinn model Surburban from the early70's. Considering these fenders are close to 50 years old, they are in remarkable shape. Even comes with the original Schwinn rear reflector marked "Schwinn 5628 R". In case you are wondering, the reflector alone is going for close to $30. All the fenders braces are in great shape and securely attached. Original paint with even cooler original pin striping, which by the way, was HAND DONE, where can you find this, these days???? These came off 27 inch wheels. They would be perfect for that 700C hybrid that you have that you are thinking of putting fenders on--or similar bike project--why go with plastic, when you can go with something that has lasted 50 years and can easily go another 50--the fenders measure 1 3/4 inch across--big enough to handle most hybrid tires, or anything smaller, might be made to fit road bikes. Also including another set of vintage Schwinn metal fenders with original paint and pin striping, which I think came from a pre-war schwinn. Unfortunately somewhere along the way, it picked up a dent. My advice is at the price you are getting these 2 sets of fenders for (both sets for $75), go to a body shop and have the pros knock it out, without hurting the orig. paint-- any questions, call Bruce at 285-9909.
