This one of a kind professionally built ferro cement cutter (from Seattle) was lived aboard and cared for by its original owner full-time until 2018. Moxie and her female owner made 7 trips to Alaska, 4 by way of Hawaii, and 11 trips to Mexico. Moxie is in dry storage in Guaymas Mexico, (300 miles South of Tucson, Arizona.)
Since I have come into possession of her, I have epoxied sealed the decks, refurbished the mast with epoxy paint, and installed a rebuilt Yanmar, had some new cushions made, outfitted it with cruising gear like wireless Navionics on a tablet, all the goodies for living on the hook. Plumbing has been gone through, engine room painted. Decks epoxied.
Has a Dickinson Diesel heater. Windvane, and an autopilot. Tiller is dreamy. Hull properly ballasted when professionally built to account for ferro hull. Sails really really well in light air for a full keel boat.
In 2009 she got new Staylok rigging, lifelines, electronics, downing pole, rewired mast, propane stove, Electroscan Sanitary System.
2013 new Awlgrip on hull and Minto sailing dinghy hull and EPIRB.
Manual windlass Plath #1 w/2 wildcats and a rope gypsy. 2 CQR anchors mounted on double tilting bronze rollers on the bowsprit. 450' of 3/8" HT double dipped galvanized chain, no rust. in 2 chain lockers, 33K Bruce anchor and 100 lb. Fisherman Anchor disassembled (Just in case), saltwater deckwash.
Twin headstays with matching genoas and plenty of other sails in good condition including a drifter. Easily add roller furler by removing a stay.
The toilet is another work of art. Its a 100 year old W.B. Sands "Winner" bronze masterpiece built right before Wilcox Crittenden bought the patents. It's like shifting an old Ferrari when you are flushing it.
Moxie was to be our perfect cruising boat once we become empty nesters, but our kids are taking way too long to grow up. Moxie needs to get back on the water with a new owner sooner. It will make the perfect traditional seaworthy cutter for 1-2 people to circumnavigate the world.
Price includes delivery to Hawaii with fresh bottom paint and obviously a testament as to her seaworthiness. If you want it where she lies: make an offer.
The hull is so fair that people rarely guess its ferro cement. The top sides need nothing more than an occasional brush on of Seafin's Teak Oil to maintain the pettiest boat in any harbor.
Overnight provisioned seatrial and stem to stern tour available upon request.
