Hull design is 50 feet with a small extension of five feet on the transom, and a retractable 6 foot bowsprit.
Sandwich foam fibreglass hull (see photos of builder's notes(sorry, my camera was getting low on memory when I took these)).
200hp Caterpillar engine-performed 2 mile buoy run February or March 2020 under power(state requires for permitting).
Boat has been largely inactive. Used only by an older gentleman as his vacation home and pet project for several decades now. Would make a good project boat for someone with time and a little bit of money. Hull and deck are sound and were VERY stoutly built. Rigging may be ok, but has been some time without sea trials, and would require a thorough inspection. Many sails which are all likely serviceable as they've been stored below-decks except for the mainsail.
Has made several ocean voyages in the past, two Vancouver-Honolulu-Tahiti returns, plus several Vancouver-Honolulu return passages.
Most recently from Hawaii to Bora Bora, Moorea and Tahiti return to Hawaii, February 1, 1986 to April 18, 1986.
Last blue water voyage was Vancouver to Hawaii, July 9 - August 7, 1990. Photos are largely from these last trips. The last two showing the stern in harbor at Ala Wai are from 2018.
I'm selling on behalf of the older gentleman's, my father's, estate.
Here is a link to my youtube channel for a few videos I created in 2013 for my own use of the engine room and steering cabin; https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC1MEvTLSnj_ZHfSQ1Ng9dug/videos
Questions already fielded;
Is steering hydraulic or cable? Hydraulic
Beam? I think about 12’
Draft? 6’ 6”
Type of keel? Fixed keel integral to the hull filled with boiler plate and some lead
Rudder? Rudder has two points of contact (not sure what that’s called (skeg)), but the rudder is connected to both the hull and the rudder skeg.
Anchor? Plow. Also has a Danforth, I think.
Anchor line? I think about 200’ of galvanized chain and about the same of nylon.
Fuel tankage? About 300 gallons diesel. Think it may be 150 per side, but may be 300 per side.
Water tankage? I think about 1000 gallons
Displacement; probably close to 30 tons
