Artist biography-
Noam (Naim) Basson was a prominent, world renowned Israeli artist. His sculptures, drawings, jewelries and medals have been presented by the Israeli government and other public organizations, as official gifts to various people around the world. Basson’s “Peace Sculpture” was presented to Dr. Henry Kissinger by
Israel’s defense minister, Shimon Peres, after Yom Kippur war. Another “Peace Sculpture” was presented to U.S. president, Jimmy Carter after the Camp David peace agreement was signed. Basson’s “Peace Sculpture” has been presented in the permanent art collection of the White House. The picture of the “Peace Sculpture” shown here was signed by Dr. Kissinger. “The Unity Sculpture” was presented to Pope John Paul The II, and is currently on display at the Vatican’sMuseum of Modern ArtBasson’s “Dove of Peace” was given to the late King Hussein of Jordan as an official gift from the United Jewish Appeal (UJA) after the signing of the peace accord with
Israel. “Israel” and “The Dove“, designed by N. Basson, were
Israel’s first kinetic medals coined by the Israel Government Coins and Medals Corporation.
