.This is a 26” 3 strand ginger style Hawaiian Ni’ihau shell lei with sections of the smaller more colorful kahelelani shells. The ginger style is an loser style of stringing the momi (dove) shells. The momi in this lei are all matched and there are 1 strand each with sections of akala pua (medium pink), Omaomao (tan with a green tinge) and makue (deep brown) kahelelani shells. The Kahala I shell sections are very well strung with the shells sections properly overlapping each other. Some thread is showing at the top of the strands where the momi sections have shifted over time. The luster of the shells is of a good quality, especially with the kahelelani shells.
