. This is a 21” 2 strand ginger style Hawaiian Ni’ihau shell lei with the rare Uliuli (blue-grey) momi (dove) shells at the base with lighter Uliuli to kua ula (off white) shells at the top. There are some Pa’alima (darker shells with the tip still intact) mixed into the design. The smaller colorful kahelelani shells in this lei are the ulu ulu (burgundy), Omaomao (green grey), akala pua (medium pink) and makue (dark brown). The luster of the shells is of a high quality and shows that the shells are from the island of Ni’ihau in Hawaii. The lei is well strung.
