This is a 7 1/2” 4 strand Mauna Loa (straight strung) style Ni’ihau shell bracelet from the island of Ni’ihau in Hawaii. The momi (dove) shells in this bracelet are in the light Uliuli (blue-grey) color of the shells. This 4 strand bracelet is strung in one direction rather than switching directions in the middle. Traditionally you would switch the direction in the center so when folded the shells would face the same direction on both sides of the strands when worn. There look to be no broken or missing shells. The luster of the shells is of a high quality. Retail value: ($200-$240)
