Movement Resolutions Occupational Therapy is seeking a reliable, organized, and compassionate Occupational Therapy Technician / Administrative Assistant to join our team. We are a neurodiverse-affirming clinic working with both pediatric and adult populations, providing individualized occupational therapy services in a supportive and inclusive environment.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys helping others, supporting a therapy team, and contributing to the smooth operation of a healthcare practice. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, comfortable with administrative responsibilities, and able to communicate professionally with clients, families, physicians’ offices, and insurance companies.
**Responsibilities Include:**
**Administrative & Insurance Support:**
- Send and retrieve electronic faxes to/from physician offices and insurance companies, including preparing fax covers.
- Enter and update client information in SimplePractice, including:
- Client demographics
- Medical authorizations
- Signed evaluations, progress notes, and discharge notes
- Authorization expiration dates
- Request medical authorizations for clients.
- Request signatures from ordering physicians for required documentation.
- Monitor authorization expiration dates and request extensions when needed.
- Conduct client insurance benefit checks.
- Maintain accurate and organized client records.
**Clinic & Therapy Support:**
- Create and update client Body Check Charts.
- Prepare daily client sign-in sheets and organize clinic materials.
- Assist the occupational therapist with setup and cleanup between clients.
- Help maintain a clean, organized, and welcoming therapy environment.
- Take out trash at the end of each shift.
- Clean the clinic every other weekend.
**General Support:**
- Complete occasional business errands (post office, office supply shopping, recycling, water pickup, etc.).
- Assist with the care of the therapy dog, including feeding and walks.
**Qualifications:**
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Professional communication skills (phone, email, and in-person).
- Ability to handle confidential client information appropriately.
- Comfortable learning electronic medical record systems (e.g., SimplePractice).
- Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently.
- Experience in healthcare, administration, childcare, education, or therapy settings preferred but not required.
