FOR SALE: 1989 BATMAN BUST SCULPTED BY RANDY BOWEN - PRELIMINARY RESIN CAST - LESS THAN 10 WERE CAST IN PORTLAND, OREGON BY DIRECTION OF RANDY BOWEN

This cold cast resin bust of Batman (made during the year of the first Tim Burton / Michael Keaton Batman movie in 1989) was sculpted by internationally famed sculpture artist RANDY BOWEN, who instructed , mold maker & master model painter Terry Smith (of Portland, OR) to make a mold and produce an experimental cold resin cast of his Batman bust (which he'd sculpted using "Super Sculpey"), since he was interested to see how the experiment would turn out. Since this experiment's results were not intended for commercial release, and only as a prototype experiment, having been produced prior to the eventual finished & marketed version of his Batman Bust, fewer than ten (10) experimental resin busts were cast by Terry from the Batman mold he created, most of which were delivered to Randy Bowen, so this is an Ultra Mega Rare item you are quite unlikely to encounter in the future.

Seeing the bust up close helps elucidate the imperfections in this experimental resin Batman bust far more clearly than the attached photos I took on a sunny day here in Hawaii recently. If you look closely one of the back side photos, you'll see RANDY BOWEN's inscribed initials RLB along with "89" at the base of the resin cast.

The bust is approximately 6 1/2" from the bottom of the cast base to the tip of Batman's ear and about 5 1/2" from the tip of right shoulder to the tip of the left shoulder.

I acquired this Batman bust directly from Terry Smith while I lived in Portland, in approximately 1992 /1993.

One of the tips of Batman's ears broke off during a fall to floor awhile back, so I re-glued it with Elmer's Glue as a temporary fix, and it could be easily taken off and replaced with a superior, longer lasting adhesive.

The price is $1,100 / Shipping would be an additional charge if needed. I prefer cash payment if the bust can be picked up in Kihei. Check or Money Order would have to be verifiably authentic and cleared by my bank prior to a shipment to another location.
