Lydgate Farms has an exciting opportunity to join our Farm Team in Kapaaa. Our team works to grow, care for, harvest, and process cacao, vanilla, and honey. We also care for a wide range of fruit trees, native plants, and tropical landscapes, including maintaining our 5-star farm tour path that provides guests with an unforgettable on-farm experience.

Our 46-acre regenerative farm is in Wailua/Kapaa Homesteads at 5730 Olohena Rd.
Work Schedule:
Monday - Friday, 7:00am - 3:00pm
Full-time 5-days per week, 40hr position
Occasional weekend work and extended hours may be available or necessary (particularly around harvests). Scheduled on an as-needed basis with prior notice.
Compensation:
Starting at $22+/hour (based on experience)

Duties/Responsibilities
-- Maintain farm grounds and equipment: riding mower, brush cutting, weed whacking, sickle around trees, pulling weeds, trimming coconuts and other trees, moving green waste to specified areas on farm
-- Tend to cacao orchards: tree pruning, fertilizing, harvesting fruit, maintaining wind breaks, tree trimming, fixing and laying new irrigation, planting, being observant of pest or disease pressures
-- Harvest & processing cacao: crack pods, ferment cacao, drying, record keeping, tasting, updating inventory
-- Tend to vanilla tents: mulching, looping, planting, irrigating, fertilizing, maintaining shade house structures, pollinating, harvesting, and post-harvest processing through drying
-- Miscellaneous farm tasks such as planting seeds or starts of a myriad of plants, maintaining farm roads, beekeeping and honey processing, tool care & repair, record keeping and data collection, building new farm infrastructure, felling invasive trees and clearing brush, stewarding water ways, preparing for and planting new cacao orchards, assisting with other business operations (e.g., unloading supplies).
Ideal Candidate
