1982 Ian Farrier (of Corsair and F-Boats) trailerable folding Trimaran for sale. Production made in Australia by Haines Hunter a well known production boat manufacturer. Known as the Tramp, this boat is what started the trailerable multihull day sailing craze.
The Tramp is a Day Sailer with a roomy cockpit, lots of storage, and large wingnet trampolines. It is fiberglass construction with original Gel Coat finish, with overbuilt beams made from aluminum extrusions. This boat is beachable with swing up centerboard and kick up rudder, shallow draft, and is so solidly built that it can be launched off surf and sailed down waves or sailed fast, all single hand.
Coast Guard rated for 6 persons.
The boat folds up for trailering, and can open and close on the water by installing and removing 8 bolts which takes less than 5 minutes. Rigging the boat for sailing takes about a half hour once you get the hang of it.
This is a well sorted example of a classic Tramp that has been actively sailed single hand for the last 10 years. The previous owner sailed it single hand from Texas to the Bahamas.
An afternoon or two of prep and she would be ready for a summer of mooring, or trailer her to your favorite ramp and rig her up for a day of fun.
Trailer included but not licensed.
Selling “as-is” on trailer, no test sails.
Trio is not a new boat and isn’t priced like one. Like any older boat, seasonal maintenance is required. She has been stored on trailer the last few years due to a move and Covid, so she will need a thorough detailing and some minor repairs and preparation before being put to daily use.
Pricing is based on current condition, value and recent sales of boats in similar condition. Shipping a boat on trailer to the island costs $7K alone.
Willing to spend a day with new owner showing them the ropes and help rig and launch. Being a production boat, there is a Sailing Manual that shows and explains how to do everything as well.
Willing to ship inter-island via Young Brothers at buyers expense. YB quoted $1900 to Honolulu, $2900 to Big Island, and $2700 to Maui earlier in the year but all of those prices have now gone up.
Do your research and familiarize yourself with multihull design, used multihull pricing and availability, and the cost of shipping a boat like this to the islands.
Price is $15000 Cash.
Might consider a partial trade for a small work truck, or project vintage car or motorcycle.
