"Awesome place! Totally worth it! Loved the space! You can hear the waves crashing as you go to sleep and wake up! Was a bit concerned about the outdoor shower then it ended up being one of the best showers we had during the whole week! Love Love Love the place. Amazing, comfortable, clean, peaceful, great experience, great price!"
"The only thing wrong with this little dwelling is that I am not there right now to enjoy it! My boyfriend & I spent 3 nights in this lovely place, and out of our 2 week stay in Hawaii, this one was by far the best. We had booked a couple other "fancier" places, thinking that we would need a reward after "roughing it", but this place had way more charm & atmosphere than the rest. I immediately felt at home here. The cottage is spacious, comfortable, clean, and has about everything you need to cook a nice meal. The latrine was about one of the nicest smelling ones I've ever been in. (It might not hurt to have a chamber pot, though, if you're feeling too lazy to go out in the middle of the night. Maybe there is one, but I didn't find it. ) Of course, I was in heaven with the outdoor shower, enshrouded with orchids and other lovely blooms, and boy, (look out!) is that water ever hot, and there's plenty of it! There's even a light to shower at night. It rained frequently while we were there & I was surprised at how few bugs there were. Obviously, there is a degree of outdoor living entailed, so having some notion of whether you like camping would probably be helpful.
"Kealahi a such a delightful person. I really appreciate her devotion to protecting the environment & minimizing the impact of tourism on this island's fragile ecosystem. It really shows that she loves this place, with all the care that she puts into it.
"I still miss that nightly frog symphony. This is a very romantic place, and the location near the gorgeous highway 137, is awe inspiring, and a wonderful area to explore. I would make sure to show up before dark the first day, as it's a little tricky to find. Also allow time before hand, to stop for groceries. And by all means, be prepared to not ever want to go home!"
