Aloha. I am a semi retired contractor looking for some work. I have been designing and building custom homes here in Hawaii county for 35 years. I started out building cabinets on the mainland and doing tract house/custom home framing (almost 50 years ago). Here on the island —mostly custom homes and some remodels/additions. During my time here, I have given back to my community and I ran the then one affiliate of Habitat for Humanity in Hilo (in the late 90s). Later on I returned and worked for the Kona affiliate and then became the construction coordinator for the entire island. I mention that because I do enjoy working with homeowners that like to also work on their own DIY projects. In fact, I give a discount to kapuna, widows and single moms. I also still like to build cabinets and even some furniture from time to time. Finish carpentry is my Kuliana. My rates are reasonable and I’m island wide.
