Aloha,

The Kumukoa House currently has a furnished bedroom with a bunkbed available. Rent is $700 a month with a $700 security deposit. All utilities are included. Another bunkbed room will be available on July 3rd.

The recently renovated Kumukoa House is a living/ learning center adjacent to the University of Hawai'i at Hilo. We are a diverse group of students and young professionals living and taking care of a beautiful space with over 200 fruit trees, fish, worms, and occasionally chickens and bees. This would be a great place for you to live if you like gardening, art, yoga, media, health, meditation, nature, kombucha, cooking, sharing food, living sustainably/locally, hanging out with cool people, and enjoying life. Everybody living at the house agrees to work 10 hours a month with trained gardening (permaculture) experts usually on the first and third Saturday of the month. Over the years we have created a Garden of Eden and we invite you to be a part of it. We have an outdoor cat named Blanco.

Unique benefits of living at the Kumukoa house include:

1) 42 pedals by bike to front of the UH Hilo library :-)
2) infrared sauna
3) multiple vegetable/ spice gardens/ 120 fruit trees/ kombucha/ sprouts, fish ponds, worms
4) off street parking
5) washer/dryer
6) three refrigerators (shared)
7) high speed wifi internet
8) 48" flat screen tv with surround sound and HDMI cable
9) close to bus stops (supermarkets/ downtown)
10) champion juicer, reverse osmosis water filter
11) covered bike parking
12) pull-up bar, yoga swing, disco ball
