By the 1870s, this company in South Wales, England was a supplier of glassware to ocean liners. Subsequently, Stuart crystal stemware would be supplied for use aboard the White Star Line's ill-fated "Titanic" in 1912. Production stopped in 2001. These glasses are 42.00 each at a replacement service + shipping

These six crystal Port Wine glasses 5.5 inches high, by Stuart Crystal in the Abbey pattern, 1955 to 1977, have a Gothic design. As part of the Waterford Wedgwood group of companies in 1915, Stuart Crystal maintained a standard of product excellence, particularly in terms of design innovation for which it is well known.

When comparing glass vs crystal, crystal is a type of glass that contains strengthening minerals like lead-oxide, potassium carbonate, and silica to make the material durable. The added strength allows the crystal to be molded into thin, delicate shapes. Standard glass is usually made with sand, soda ash, and limestone, making it durable but unable to be molded as thin as crystal. Crystal is also able to refract light while glass will typically lack that ability, making crystal more sought out for formal table settings and more expensive than glass.
