Friendly, Purebred Clun Forest Wether (neutered male) Lamb looking for a pet/grazer/wool producer home. He would be a great buddy for your ram when he's not with the ladies or he'd get along well with ewes too.
The lamb is 6 months old and very friendly. He likes being petted and eating treats from my hand. He is healthy and is up-to-date on deworming and vaccinations.
Clun Forest sheep are hardy, adaptable and produce nice wool for spinning into yarn and other wool crafts.
Neutered sheep tend to have sweet mild temperaments and are good friends for both ewes and intact rams.
Sheep make great Eco-friendly mowers for your extra grass or orchard. Clun sheep tend to be easier on your trees than goats and hair sheep, that climb and chew on trees.
But sheep are not 'mowing robots' and require some attention and dedication from you.
Basic Sheep Care/Requirements:
Sheep need grassy pasture, dog-proof fencing, such as hog-wire/woven wire and a shelter/shed for protection from heavy rain.
Sheep need to have their hooves trimmed from time to time (usually 1 - 2 times a year) and to be dewormed as needed. Lambs need to be dewormed more often than adult sheep.
Clun sheep need to have their wool sheared off once a year.
Sheep are social/flocking animals, so they are happiest in flocks of 3 or more.
I also have several full-grown pet/grazer ewes available, if you are looking for a small flock.
