We have several nice ewes (females) and a wether (neutered male) lamb available for grazers, wool producers and/or pets.
Clun Forest sheep are hardy and adaptable. Clun sheep are great grazers for orchards, as they are more gentle on trees than hair sheep and goats. Clun sheep also produce nice wool for spinning and other wool crafts or biodegradable mulch for your trees and garden.
The available ewes are 3 - 4 years old. They are not for breeding, as they have never been bred and are now too old to have lambs for the first time. I may also sell a retired ewe or 2, to the right home.
The wether lamb is 6 months old. He is friendly and sweet. Wether sheep get along well with both ewes and rams. Wethers make great companions for your ram when he's not living with your ewes. Wethers Do Not stink like male goats.
The ewes are $125 - $150, depending on age. The wether lamb is $175.
Sheep are 'flock' animals, so you need to have 3 or more for them to be happy.
New to sheep? I am happy to advise new sheep owners on proper care and fencing.
Basic Sheep Requirements:
Grassy pasture with dog-proof fencing, such as hog-wire/woven wire and a shelter/shed for protection from heavy rain.
Sheep need to have their hooves trimmed from time to time (usually 1 - 2 times a year) and to be dewormed as needed.
Clun sheep need to be sheared once a year in the Spring.
Some time and attention from you. Sheep are not mowing robots, but they are fun friendly animals that eat your extra grass and like treats (some like being petted too)
