The Tom is around 1.5 years old and has a really great temperament. He’s not aggressive and gets along super well with my other toms. The hen is around 2 years old, so she is currently in her prime egg-laying stage.
If you aren't familiar with Bourbon Reds, they are a rare heritage breed known for being excellent foragers and having really calm personalities. The hens are known to go broody easily, and their eggs are honestly delicious—very rich and creamy compared to regular eggs.
You’ll want to pick them up soon to get them settled in, because turkey laying season here usually kicks off as early as late January or February. It’s the perfect time to start your own flock!
