This vintage early '90's Specialized Rockhopper Comp FS has a steel frame, Mozo front shock, cantilever brakes and a 3x7 Shimano STX drivetrain with SRAM GripShift shifters. The wheels have been professionally rebuilt with new DT Swiss stainless spokes and nipples on a set of solid Specialized double-walled alloy rims. A like-new Specialized Crossroads tire is up front and a new tube and Bontrager Connection Comp tire is in the rear. The frame and fork have been stripped and clearcoated and the brake lever housings, painted. Hub and headset bearings have been cleaned and regreased. New components include a Tange sealed bottom bracket, a new KMC chain, and new cables and housings. Used components also include the rear derailleur, shifters, and a nice Specialized saddle.
The bike rides like new. Wheels spin round and true, brakes stop confidently and derailleurs shift very well. New, this bike sold for ~$600 in 1994 which is now over $1,000 in today's dollars.
This 18" hardtail mountain bike, with a standover height of 31.5", will fit someone between ~5'6" and 5'10".
