Hi guys, I'm looking to add authors to my new blog about free or low cost things to do in Hawaii. Looking for content on any island, but I've been focusing on Oahu so far.
WE ARE NOT looking for dry articles telling people to eat less fat and cut down on calories.
WE ARE looking for writers with a holistic approach to fitness, preferably someone very familiar with Paul Chek's fitness philosophy.
Writing can be about:
- Nutrition
- Exercise
- Feeling good
- Managing personal energy
- Maximizing performance
- Any sort of practical advice that the average young professional can reasonably apply to their lives to feel better, be healthier, and have more energy
The writing must have personality. You must feel comfortable sharing personal stories, being funny, being yourself, and making your writing both entertaining and educational.
Length: 300 - 500 words
Pay: $25 / post
Frequency: 2 posts per week
Qualifications: Fluent, first-language level English

Tzu Chi Foundation U.S.A. has an immediate opening for a part-time senior translator/editor. The translator/editor will serve as a member of one or more translation projects at Tzu Chi Foundation U.S.A. and work in the capacity of a translator or an editor or both.
The ideal candidate must have excellent English writing and editing abilities and be fluent in Chinese. Past translation experience (from Chinese to English) is required. Candidate with experience in translation of Buddhist materials is preferred. For those with no Buddhist background, studying and understanding of “The Way to Buddhahood” by Master Yin Shun is a plus. The candidate must be able to work independently as well as within a team environment. The minimum commitment is two years.
When the candidate’s resume has been reviewed and deemed qualified, the candidate will be asked to do a sample translation and sample editing work of Dharma as Cleansing Water (法譬如水) samples as prerequisite of interview. The candidate must be able to provide a copy of sample translation of the Dharma as Cleansing Water project.
This is a part time position. A full time position may be available depending on the performance and qualification of the candidate.
Hours
Up to 19 hours per week
Flexible work hours working at Tzu Chi Hawaii Office
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Complete translation and/or editing assignments as scheduled
2. Create/refine/compile/maintain various glossaries as required
3. Work closely with volunteers and paid staff in translation projects
4. Work closely with volunteers and staff in coordination of the translation works
5. Other duties as may be assigned in support of translation projects
6. Applicant must have own access to MS Word and the Internet
Required Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s Degree
2. Excellent English writing skills
3. Excellent knowledge in conversational English
4. Fluency in Chinese
5. Translation/editing experience
6. Excellent knowledge in MS Word
7. Familiarity with Tzu Chi a plus
8. Familiarity with Buddhism a plus
