We're seeking charter content authors, graphic artists, bloggers, animators, videographers, editors, or whatever your role you can describe and encourage collaboration.
The point is to establish Musubi Press as a reliable source of interesting timely information, viewpoints and creative content from 'day one' November 1, 2009 to be exact.
In addition to the editorial content on the site which will mostly be publicly available, there will be a membership area with some unique features in addition to forums, chat, IM, classifieds, etc.
Ironically, the Musubi Press Community is designed to be a "spam-free" zone!
We're just a shoe-string startup, trying to work with others to help create an economic recovery with a twist.
What I propose is something along the lines of "if you contribute content then you are entitled to get most of whatever revenue can be derived from your content", as in, pretty much all.
Then you decide what is a fair amount to give back for the creative, logistical, technical, and marketing support provided to create that income.
Content-creators will always retain all ownership of their material.
For people who are involved in the support and production side of the site, maybe a tipping or revenue-share type of compensation system could be developed. For example; depending upon the level of involvement, the content author could agree in advance how much to share with the editor who helped them correct grammar and produce compelling content.
I've developed the different payment and tipping functionality using the Amazon Payments API.
Pakana Holdings' role is to act as webmaster/developer/site-owner. We've got the tools you bring the materials and we can all build something cool together.
Also, an important point to make is one of our goals will never be to censor and we maintain final discretion and authority over what content is displayed in public areas, controversy can be interesting when handled respectfully, but we do want to avoid potentially objectionable or gratuitously shocking material in public areas in most cases.
