Aloha everyone I am writing on behalf of my family and our work with the Private sector (the original north shore foodbank, AKA. the purple people van). We need your help to make our thanksgiving meals for the homeless and the old folks home this year. There was a shortage on pumpkins and we need all that you can donate so that we can process it into pumpkin pie mix right away before it rots. This year is even harder than the last, as we are floundering to support those who need us the most this holiday season. My family has been providing meals to the needy for over 10 years now and it has been getting harder as more and more support goes to the once a month church instead of other charities. ( nothing against them, we love them for all that they do, but some people want help that is not religiously affiliated and we are here for all of those that need us regardless).
Anything you can do is well appreciated, but we are searching for the pumpkins right now. Please contact me and let me know what you can do. Pumpkins, turkeys, potatoes, yams, flour, eggs, sugar, anything, even volunteers are welcome and invited to a meal at our home when the work is done ( we hold the meal at our home for the needy in that area near rockpiles and pipeline beach). My family spends all we can out of pocket to help, but we need the community support more than ever this year.
