This vacation destination is being built on 21 acres of oceanfront property on the western side of O‘ahu at the Ko Olina Resort & Marina development. Scheduled to open in 2011, the resort will overlook a crystal blue lagoon and white sand beach. It will include 350 hotel rooms and 480 Disney Vacation Club timeshare villas as well as an 18,000-square-foot spa, a children’s club, wedding lawn and an elaborate pool with a water play area. Quality Assurance Inspector
The Quality Assurance Inspector will be responsible for the quality assurance for the construction of the resort. Specific focus will be given to the fabrication and installation of the building envelope and all Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Fire Systems. Day to day responsibilities include:
§ Review all applicable project documentation including program, plans and specifications, construction documents, addendums, change orders, technical directives, shop drawings, request for information, submittals, and operation and maintenance manuals.
§ Review materials & equipment delivered on site to ensure they are not damaged and meet specifications.
§ Perform scheduled QA inspections.
§ Conduct extensive site inspection of assigned areas under construction. Document and record (digital photograph) all deficiencies and discrepancies. Responsibilities include notifying the QA Manager and all appropriate project personnel of any work that is not constructed according to the project design documents and/or can develop into future operating problems.
§ Create and submit punch lists to the Walt Disney Imagineering Co. Follow up on all items to assure the completion of 100% of the punch prior to turnkey turnover to Disney Operations.
§ Attend project, job site and special meetings as required.
§ Manage input from Walt Disney World Co.’s Safety, Security, Environmental Control and other specialty offices relative to issues on each project, i.e., traffic, walkway surfaces, railings, water quality, etc.
§ Coordinate and communicate with QA Manager related to construction and program issues.
Required Qualifications
§ Demonstrated success in a comparable position for a large multi-disciplined technical construction project.
§ Minimum 10 years work experience.
§ Decision maker with the ability to work under pressure.
§ Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
§ Demonstrated skills in effective time management and multitasking.
§ Proficient computer skills including proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
§ Strong “customer” focus/perspective.
§ Committed to “team” success.
Desired Qualifications
§ Associates Degree in Engineering/Construction.
§ 5 years of leadership experience.
§ Extensive resort and hospitality experience.
§ Professional work experience in local market.
As a Cast Member within our Resort, you are responsible for supporting our Company Environmental Policy by minimizing our impact on the environment. This includes actions to conserve water, energy and ecosystems; to reduce greenhouse gas emissions; to minimize waste and to inspire public consciousness in support of environmental sustainability.
