Provides technical support to Local Area Network (LAN)/personal computer users by analyzing and resolving problems and by supplying information concerning LAN and PC use, and also provides administrative and operational support for the overall operation of the LAN in accordance with established systems and procedures. Communicates and coordinates network/PC requirements, as well as schedule and work with or direct IMOG staff, auditors, examiners and vendors. Assists in Project Management functions as appropriate. Serves as primary or backup support for the companies PC and network systems or applications.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Management Information Systems or Computer Science, or equivalent work experience is required. Possesses a minimum of two years’ field experience in PC hardware installation, configuration and maintenance; an A+ certification is a plus. Has a minimum of two years’ working knowledge with client operating systems. Able to configure a client workstation in a server operating system environment for optimal performance. Possesses a working knowledge of PC network infrastructure, file servers, and network operating systems. Has two to three years’ working knowledge in a server operating system environment (i.e. Novell, Windows NT, Windows 2000, etc.). Good interpersonal skills and is able to work well with end-users in assisting them with PC and network problem resolution.
