Room for rent in Makiki district in 2 bedroom/1bath apartment. Available Now. Share apartment with one couple. Great deal at $500/month plus electric. Pay $500 security plus first month's rent, Coin operated laundry (cheap!). You can usually pick up wireless internet signals from home. Equipment included for your use: 2 small desks/chairs, a small television, shared cooking equipment and appliances (coffee maker, toaster, microwave). I have been living here for a year and a half and have really enjoyed it—everything I need is right here. All of the following are on the same block as the apartment:
Video rental place.
Small grocery store.
Coffee shop.
Subway restaurant.
Peppa's Korean barbecue.
Another restaurant (don't recall the name)
Wine shop.
Sushi place.
Hair salon.
Bus stop (route 4, 18 to UH, and 17).
This is a great place if you are a student—the atmosphere is pretty quiet, and UH is only an 8 minute bike ride or drive away, or you can take the bus. The coffee shop is a great place to study and you can usually get free wireless. Ala Moana/Walmart and the beach are also not very far away, about the same distance as to UH.
