Co-Housing/Eco Homesteading/Intentional Community (hawaii)
Hello prospective housemates,
I am searching for a particular fit that would require some if not all my needs be met and hopefully additional wants to be met as well. Aside from some (temporary?) dietary restrictions my needs are fairly basic and simple. (my humble opinion)
Adequate kitchen space with at least a stove and oven, or the opportunity to set up a space possibly outside w/electricity. I welcome and encourage meal sharing etc., Just currently exp. certain food sensitivities and dietary restrictions. (more info provided under Health)
Warm, well insulated or potential for improvement, spacious(at least 10x10), mold free, mildew free room with at least one window. I'm open to alternative living space, just as long as it meets these general criteria
Storage space. Wouldn't require much, just additional space besides my personal room.
Respect, Communication, willingness for understanding, comfortable atmosphere, openness.
Close in proximity to a city or town with biking/public transport or commuting an option.(if not then some potential for partial income to be earned on premises.)
Space for gardening/growing or already existing garden with potential for involvement.
Space for chickens/ducks or already existing with potential for involvement.
Partial or Full work/trade for rental costs(excluding food, personal items etc.)
Some type of wifi access or internet connection
Greenhouse or space potential for one to be erected
Ability to have my dog part time/occasionally(he's a very well mannered 8 y/o Rhodesian Ridgeback. Great with kids, Farm animals, etc.)
Ability to get involved or create workshops, learning seminars etc.
Ability to Construct/build sustainable systems and structures with emphasis on natural ecology, cost-effectiveness, and communities priorities.
Although I am open to most and any traditional whole foods; as long as conscientiously consumed, prepared, and obtained. I am currently experiencing difficulty with my health and namely my digestion. Therefore I have a very dedicated regime and unusual guidelines that I am currently following in order to recover Mostly No sugar, processed foods, wheat and most other grains, alcohol, caffeine, most dairy. I do not get offended around use of these foods just want to let people know that I desire sharing meals and cooking, I just have a particular diet. Mostly what I eat are pastured eggs, meats, organ meats, bone broths, vegetables, fermented foods, some legumes, and limited grain seeds/nuts. I also would like to and have been striving to incorporate more wild edibles.
I am 31 y/o male, single, non-smoker, respectful, open and courteous. I could write a really long list of what I enjoy, or share a few passions to formulate my personality: cycling/human powered transportation, effective communication, thought provoking conversation, laughter and goofing around, adventure/exploration(physically/mentally/emotionally), creativity and expression, sustainable/conscientious living, efficiency. Ideally I'm looking to stick within the Pacific Northwest but would consider elsewhere. I am looking to find a secondary (family) and if not within living situation than hopefully within the greater community. Due to my lifestyle and dietary preferences I believe a good match would be on a small Urban Farm or Community that has enough room and ability to practice animal husbandry.
First and foremost I am a bicycle mechanic and budding fabricator. I own my own tools and this is my main source of financial income. I am also a tinkerer and a problem solver and usually dedicate my energy towards alternative transportation. I have been more interested in developing off the grid systems and transitional technologies. I also have some background experience in irrigation/plumbing as well as rigging, building, heavy equipment operating. I have several years experience in organic farming/gardening and animal husbandry. Have been involved with anything from personal garden to community gardens and small micro farms mainly in Central Oregon and Willamette Valley. I am currently involved with a local non profit education/collaborative workspace in Eugene as a facilitator/instructor. I have also performed training to new employees for a local bicycle rental business in Central Oregon. I have attended an Non-Violent Communication Seminar that uses the practices of Marshall Rosenberg. Although I don't have any professional experience, I am well adept in spatial orientation and utilization. Its also a great way to express my creativity. I am an outdoor enthusiast, and have skills in foraging, fishing, hunting, watching/observing.
I appreciate your consideration and would openly invite you to feel free to email or call for any questions or request for references
Also encourage you to pass this on to whom may find interest
