POSITION OVERVIEW:
This person will be cross-trained in all SOS functions, some of which include: processing invoices and expenses in MRU/Peoplesoft, inputting department-related information, such as spoilage, sales, etc. and assisting Team Leaders with the reconciliation of financial paperwork. This position requires the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. Will complete other such tasks as assigned, and work with other team members to assure that all objectives and goals of the department and store are met or exceeded.
PRINCIPLE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for overseeing all cash handling functions.
• Monitor all aspects concerning store profitability.
• Work with Regional Accountant and Team Leaders to reconcile margin reports.
• Assist in store expense analysis.
• Process accounts payable invoices for all teams and all expense invoices.
• Ensure that MRU (receiving system) has accurate data and is kept current.
• Assist with periodic/quarterly inventory preparation and procedures.
• Assist TLs with review and reconciliation of purchase journals.
• Prepare journal entries for purchase journal corrections.
• Assemble inventory package and deliver to Regional Accounting.
• Run reports from the GL during closing; print and distribute other required reports to Store Team Leaders and Team Leaders.
• Ensure all daily deadlines are met.
• Attend all department, store, regional, and training meetings when scheduled.
• Answer telephones in conjunction with other Admin team members.
• Follow through on all questions and requests.
• Other duties and projects as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Basic accounting skills 1+ years experience in a retail environment.
Able to lift up to 40lbs unassisted.
Ten key by touch and data entry speed and accuracy.
Strong spreadsheet and other computer skills; PeopleSoft a plus.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Pro-active approach to problem solving.
Detail oriented and excellent organization skills.
Ability to work in a fast paced environment and meet deadlines.
Good working knowledge of cash handling functions.
High level of integrity.
Must be self-motivated and solution oriented.
Ability to embrace change with enthusiasm and a positive attitude.
Ability to travel as required for meetings and trainings.
