We wonder: Is there a Kauai homeowner who has a similar desire/need to spend time in the Bay Area who might be interested in a home exchange?
Our 2-bedroom, 2.5-bath, 3-year old, Mariani Square condo is located in San Jose’s charming Japantown, with its unique restaurants, shops and Buddhist temple. Only 6 blocks from the VTA light-rail and busses, connecting to Caltrain. Walking distance to downtown San Jose. An urban village / oasis. See map.
Our condo has a modern-tropical décor and offers a king-size bed in the master suite (with a rain-temple shower and heated stone floors in the master bath), along with a futon-double-bed in the second bedroom (with full bath, including tub). There’s also a large chair that pulls out to a twin bed on the first floor (which we use as an office), so a couple with children could stay here. Total space is about 1600sf divided over three floors, not including the attached 2-car garage..

We’d consider swapping with a homeowner anywhere on Kauai, but we have a slight preference for an eastside to north shore location. We’re kind of “testing the Internet waters” with this, I guess; you just never know what connections you can make on craigslist!
We’re actually going to be on Kauai 8/19/08 thru 9/02/08, so if you have an interest perhaps we could meet? Then we wouldn’t be “total strangers,” right?
