An advisory for owners listing and wishing to sell their vehicles via craigslist:

After posting my vehicle for sale, with a specific price and multiple pictures, I received a phone call from a JN Automotive salesman telling me that my "vehicle looks good and is a good price." He told me to bring it into the dealership, they would do an inspection, and if everything checked out they would cut me a check right there.

Feeling this was too good to be true, but curious, I took my vehicle in. A manager did the inspection and told me what good shape the vehicle was in and how nice it looked. After a few moments behind closed doors the manager came out telling me how they can buy vehicles like me for thousands less at auction and due to the economy they couldn't resell it and they weren't interested. That's what I figured going into the deal so no harm, no foul...Until he started telling me that I should look around and maybe trade my vehicle in for a new vehicle. Oh, yes, their scam in full force.

After returning to speaking with the salesman and manager about the dishonest measures to lure in customers I learned that I am not the only person affected by this scam. The salesman told me that he was give a stack of 20-25 listings from craiglist and told to call the owners to get them to come in by telling them JN wanted to buy their vehicles. He told me that he was told he would get a $50/vehicle bonus for each person who traded-in their vehicle. The salesman told me the of the people he got to come in, JN did not buy a single vehicle.

So, if you receive a call from JN Automotive telling you they want to buy your vehicle, decide if you have the time to waste for a false offer with no intention of buying your vehicle.

Very nice car for the price but willing to accept best offer. Been sitting for awhile, since we have three vehicles so registration is expired. I recently repaired A/C (cost me $850.) The BMW repair shop in Kaimuki looked it over because it has some weird computer issue which makes the control lights flicker on and off sometimes and from time to time the Transmission warning would come on but they ASSURED me the transmission is fine. Its kind of a bummer that BMW's have so much controlled in there cars by computer because when the light comes on and your in city, you have to pull over and turn off the car to get it to drive with any "oomph" again. (some kind of security feature to keep from driving like that?) When on freeway it sometimes goes on but doesn't affect the driving unless you slow down. But again, the mechanics said it was fine and I don't feel like paying to figure out what it is. The tires and wheels are real nice. Radio only. Interior old but no tears or holes. I bent the hood a bit by hitting a trucks tow bar or I'd sell it for more. It has a sunroof and electric locks and windows and all work fine. 117k miles. The good:

Wild and fun 4runner. Never been abused. Well taken care of, and used to crawl over terrain, not race over it. Check out the photos and specs. Photos show green sands and a jungle venture. Milage 113K. V6 3.4L SR5 4X4. Everything in top shape.
4.88 Yukon gears for the front and rear. More power, easier crawling and playing while off roadding.
Fabtech high performance shocks and suspension. Brand new front end suspension. Shocks are no more than 1 month old. I just replaced them and have not used them in any off road situation.
Fox racing rear suspension setup. King springs. The shocks alone were 1500.
Mickey Thompson wheels. 16x12.5
TSL tires. Mud boggers. 16x14.5x35in. they�re huge.
Super dark limo tint job, no one will see you rolling in here.
Custom exhaust setup. Not factory purchased and installed, completely custom.
Custom made seat covers. Not wet okole, these were measured, fabricated and fitted seat covers. A new carpet was installed as well, took out the old one and put in a new one a little over a year ago.
Head unit with detachable faceplate cover and sweet sounds to boot. Upgraded the factory originals. Replaced the 6.5s in the front and the 4�s in the back. The rear now has a modified 5.25 speaker setup instead of the puny little 4�s from the factory. Its kicken.
Dash gauges have been replaced for a cool blue look.
Interior lights have been replaced with Bright Blue LEDs in the front and dual lights in the center and rear for a brighter and cleaner light when opening the doors, especially at night.
Aftermarket tow hitch installed. Sturdier than normal factory models.
Undercoated and painted to protect from future rusting. I�ve never seen rust on it. She�s clean, washed and waxed frequently. At least once a month if not more.
Custom bumper lights and turn signals so they are not yellow, they are clear and blend in well.
Brand new , less than one month old Radiator, thermostat and coolant. Mid July the Oil and filters, as well plugs were all changed out. Oil is changed every 3k miles. I also replaced the front O2 sensor in the exhaust. 200+ alone for that.
