Our mission is to provide a safe and secure environment where children can heal, develop, overcome their fears and thrive, to encourage & develop a sense of hope, to provide services such as emergency housing, counseling and education for abused children, to encourage the development of healthy productive lives, and to educate in the prevention of child abuse.
Sunday's Child Foundation provides respite time for resource families and at the same time, provides healing and educational programs to foster children during certain weekends throughout the year. We are looking for well-qualified and caring individuals who can help us provide healing and educational programs to these kids. Some of the types of programs we will be running are: animal-assisted psychotherapy, gardening, nature studies, arts & music, Hawaiian cultural studies, holistic healing, marine studies, self-empowerment & self-sustainability. All or most of the programs will be organized and run at Kukuihaele Plantation House, in Kukuihaele, on the island of Hawai'i.
