Unlike many of the resorts and communities in Hawaii already on board with TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN (TNR) to manage the feral cat population, the Hilton Grand Vacations Club, Waikoloa currently deals with the feral cats, unfortunate enough to reside on the resort area property, by having them trapped by a pest control firm and turned over to the County of Hawaii Humane Society where they are killed (euthanized). Local rescue groups, as well as those of us who want them treated humanely, would highly recommend the resort management consider the most effective management method of TNR. We offer our services to assist in implementation of TNR at their resort. The cats are fed, trapped, then spayed/neutered to stop the production of more kittens. Once the cats are returned to Hilton Grand Vacations property, volunteer employees will feed and monitor the cats' health and well-being. In return these cats in the now managed colony will deter newcomer cats from establishing residency.
To lend your support to this approach, please voice your opinion and encourage Hilton Grand Vacation management to consider this alternative. Let them know, in this day and age, that killing cats is barbaric and unacceptable. Please call:
