At Affordable Portable Housing, we design and build all kinds of homes and structures, and our first choice for overall value and low cost is AAC- aerated autoclaved concrete. The blocks are 3' wide, 2' tall, 4" thick and weigh about 75 lbs each. AAC is created by mixing Portland cement, silica sand and aluminum hydrate. The interaction of these materials under the heat of autoclaving causes Billions of tiny air bubbles to form within each AAC block. This gives the material impressive insulating value. This material was invented in the 1920's in europe, and there are 33 factories worldwide. The properties of AAC are profound, you can read more about it on our website- http://www.affordableportablehousing.com/aac.html It is about 1/4 - 1/3 the weight of regular concrete, much more flexible, has the highest fire rating of any material on the planet, is sound deadening and easy to build with. Termites will not touch it, and there is no rusting or spalling that you see with regular concrete. Our blocks have steel inside of them, and even if that steel were to rust, the rust would simply compress slightly the AAC material and not bust out like rigid concrete does. We have perfected our system, and can show you our model AAC home in person on the Big Island in hawn paradise park subdivision. We build on all the islands, including Oahu. We can simply supply you with the blocks, design-draft and provide architectural review or manage the entire construction process if you like. The cost for this superior home is on par with the cheapest kit homes on the market! The product is approved by Bldg depts on every island. We guarantee you a permit will be issued, and we have the permits and homes to prove that! Feel free to email us and we can email you a scan of the permit and the home designs that we have built.
